Each quarterly issue of CAL:W will include an open call, where all types of creatives are welcome to make a submission with the chance to win the following;

• Your work featured on the front cover of the publication.

• A double page spread about your practice, including an exclusive interview.

• An opportunity to share your craft through the goodies we send out alongside the newsletter

• £300 commission to make 20 original artworks to go in the limited edition issues of the CAL:W mailclub

What type of work can I submit?

  • A high quality image or scan of your 2D work. Consider a full shot of the piece, detail images and interesting angles.

  • A high quality image of your 3D work, consider uploading a wide shot, detail images and interesting angles.

  • We would love to see typed, hand written or abstract depictions of your poetry, written word pieces, short stories and creative writing segments.

  • We consider not only photographs of the dance/performance/gig, but also written or typed lyrics, choreography, music sheets, scrips, instructions! What expresses your work best in relation to this issues prompts?

  • A high quality photo of what you have made, and that’s absolutely anything ! From crochet to Ceramics and everything in-between. We may be interested in a detail focused image of design or texture, so consider uploading multiple angles of the piece.

  • A high resolution export of your digital artwork, in CMYK. This can be anything from photography to digital illustrations, and everything in-between

If You Are Selected

Spotlight

Your submission work will be formatted as the cover of the upcoming issue of CAL:w,

you will be contacted to arrange an interview for the edition which focuses on your practice and how you make and be creative,

and you will be commissioned to make 20 pieces of work (no bigger than A5) with an artists fee of £300!  

Highlight

There will be 3 runner ups selected for our Highlight feature. 

Your submission information will feature in the publications highlight section showcasing you as a ‘creative you should know about’.
